Click hereI have an affinity
with the Canadian geese
at Cayuta Creek,
I know their piebald school
and every ebony beak;
I know where when the weather's cool
they'll make ranks in the mellow grasses,
And I know the banks where they take refuge,
near the murky waters, running rich
with sediment—in suspension.
......have a thing for Canadian geese and I love this poem. Mr Yeats knows his geese.
Tess + 5
is the alliteration at the end is better (to each his own) nicely done 5
Do you have a thing about geese?! :) 2nd stanza 3rd line would read better with a comma after 'where' and 'cool' but good read thank you
A great piece! The alliteration in the first stanza (and the title) is one of the most beautifully sounding examples I have ever seen. The best poem I've seen here in awhile. 5 all the way.
