There is a black and white cheetah
That stalks the urban night;
Crowned in red-blue halos,
Evoking wild fright.
Slinking into alleyways,
Underpasses,
After-dark communions
With a hunger in it’s eye…
Hunting down the weak ones
With a piercing, savage cry.
When first light breaks
The creature flees
And disappears into the trees;
For all is safe when in the day
The city streets are roamed by prey
But when the sun sleeps in the sky,
The Cheetah reigns;
The city hides.
