A missing childhood did she have,
no happy time only sad and oh so bad,
she needs to grow up to forgive and forget,
but how can she do this with it all still in her head.

The pain and the loss of her innocence,
all the emotions she gained at such an early age,
should have been a time to play and laugh,
instead she cried and ran away to hide.

Looking into that mirror of time,
wishing that life had not been mine,
yet thankful it was me and not others who suffered,
i see the child in me looking back,
and to be alive she is glad.
