I don’t belong here
with the hardened
ready to give it up
rough and stretched
at the limits
some find satisfaction
in the screams
but I never did
though I returned
again and again
hoping to hit that pitch
the elusive sound
signaling satisfaction
in pain inflicted
I became afflicted
turning belly up
exposing my narrow throat
rasping through the twinge,
“C’mon, choke me again.”

that got me thinking....

Haven't figured out how the title relates to the poem yet, hopefully in the morning things will emerge more clearly.
