------------------------------

Surgery was preformed
On my dear Mother today,
And I'm so glad it's over
And that now she'll be ok.

And as I stand here,
I thank the Lord above
For keeping her safe,
With His glorious love.

And for giving me the courage
To get through this day,
And to experience this world
In such a wondrous way.

For outside this structure,
Where healing takes place,
I take in all His glory,
And His creations I embrace.

His creations are so many.
Much too many to count.
But I will try my best
To give an accurate account.

That which makes up life
And the beauty of nature,
Is in every single thing
And provokes such rapture.

Everywhere I turn,
There are sounds and sights,
And aromas and sensations
That fill days and nights.

The warmth of the sun
Can be felt all around,
Along with a cool breeze
That is southwesterly bound.

The faint rustle of leaves
Being moved by this breeze,
As it moves the branches
Of the white oak trees.

The New Mexico skies
Are so shiny and bright
And filled with clouds,
That change in their flight.

On the horizon are mountains,
For as far as the eye can stare,
And they bare three large crosses
That have been placed there.

They honor our forefathers
And the struggles they did face
To provide us all a home
In this wondrous place.

The flight of an Eagle
Is so smooth and graceful,
As it glides across blue skies
So spacious and peaceful.

The singing of a bird
Way up in a tree,
Can touch the heart
And set it free.

The aroma of roses
So fresh and new,
That have been kissed
By the morning dew.

The faint fluttering of butterflies
And buzzing of bees building hives,
They each hurry to accomplish
What they must in their short lives.

The sound of a siren
And of a distant horn,
And the unmistakable sound
Of a precious newborn.

The cueing of a baby
As it kicks with joy
From its mothers caresses,
Or the jingling of its toy.

The laughter of children
In a nearby park,
As they play with their dog
And make it bark.

The sound of people
In their hour of need,
As they console each other
And their courage they feed.

The sounds of church bells
Way of in the distance,
Comforts the soul
And confirms ones existence.

The sound of traffic
And that of a lonely train,
Is proof that life goes on
And will surely not refrain.

The essence of life
Is all around us each day,
And careful attention
To it we surely must pay.

For once it is gone,
It's gone for ever more
And we can't recall it,
having never experienced it before.

And the lives of your parents
Whether or not they're husband and wife,
In comparison, are just as precious
As the essence of life.

Dedicated To My Precious Mother.
