The Fool

Coyote howl and
quickchange chameleon,
he is all and nothing
in mercury motion.
He is jack of no trade
with so much potential,
an unsprung mousetrap
perched on the stairs.
Content in his Eden,
where serpent is banished
but lays coiled and waiting
for Eve and that apple.
He's not brave, but fearless,
yet doubt gnaws belly deep,
chews meaty bones and
sucks out the marrow.
