Please … remember me
Reach back and take me by the hand
Why are we strangers after all this time
Even now when our love is still strong?
Why carry on without me by your side?

I try to pretend that you are still here
It’s the only way that I see clear
Despite the pain and fear I can’t outrun
God, what have I done?
You seem to move on so easily …

My weakness caused you pain
But I need you to forgive me
And I can’t seem to find the words to make you see
At night, alone with our memories, I pray
That soon the painful memory of your goodbye will fade away

Every time I try to fly
I realize that my wings in you are gone
I feel so lost without you there to guide me on
God, I need you …
Every time I fall asleep
I see your face in my dreams
Haunting the girl you left behind
