The ice hath melted,
for that I can be sure.
Her heart had been damaged,
so many times before.

I'm happy for them,
for they've found what they seek.
It's me who now doth cry,
it's hard to turn the other cheek.

The ice hath melted,
her pain is no more.
For now that pain is mine to bear,
a thousands scores or more.

He taught her that the ice is good,
he helped to ease her pain,
but in that moment of easing,
he caused my pain to gain.

He had no intention of hurting this heart,
for he loved me once I know.
But why does the lack of intention make
it hurt all the more.

Have I learned my lesson this time?
Will it ever happen again?
These things I cannot answer.
My only wish, for my heart to mend.
