Staring at these same four walls
Wishing for something more
I used to dream I’d be some one
Something special to the core.

But it seems the dreams have passed me by
The days go on and on
I still remember childhood times
Where I used to dream to fly.

Life keeps passing, day by day
Slowly moving on
There was a time, lost time ago
Where I would laugh and play.

The walls are moving in on me
Taking away the light
Slowly I try to raise a fight
But in the dark I can not see.

What happened to the happy child
Who used to dream and play?
Where have all the good times gone
The smiles and touches, mild?

Some where hiding, controlled and lost
The inner child still plays
And dreams of flying to the stars
No matter what the cost.
