It's been a while since I touched your lips.
It's been a long time since you moved, beneath my fingertips.
Why is it so hard to remember,
How I held you in my arms?
Love's flame, needs no more than an ember,
Just to melt beneath your charms.

Oh, the ivy is still burning,
In the garden where we met.
And my heart it is still yearning,
For the things I can't forget.

I miss you more than you could e'er know.
The words, they come and then they start to flow, and flow, and flow.
Though tears, may stain each word with sorrow,
You will love me through today.
At night I think about tomorrow.
Getting through another day.

And that ivy is still burning,
As it climbs up yonder wall.
While the world just keeps on turning,
I'm just trying not to fall.

I wish I didn't need you to catch me,
When I feel I am plummeting into the deep, dark sea.
You're there, before I have time to shout,
Holding me in your embrace.
The place I know love without a doubt,
As all my woes you erase.

So the ivy is still burning,
In the pattern that it weaves.
Please understand, I am still learning,
That not all love dies, and leaves.
