How to ease the ache in my heart
in this never-ending battle between right and wrong

How to walk away from feelings so deep
they play in my head like an endless song

I try to move, shifting my position
anything to escape the anguish inside

But you follow as naturally
as the moon to the tide

Your touch, your kiss are
seared into my mind and soul

But this bittersweet love has its price
it takes its toll

So I paint a line around me
hoping you won’t cross

Knowing that the line I paint
is my loss

For no matter how I try
I can’t erase the line between you and I.
