The Mark

It showed in the way He spoke
and the way she turned her head.
she said it with the confidence
In every step she tread.
her smile, her laugh, they all proclaimed
with pride, she had been taught
and no matter what they offered Him
she could not be bought.
No collar shown around her throat
and unmarred was her skin
yet every movement that she made
said she belonged to Him.
