he was
dressed sharp as a samurai sword
chiseled chin and Persian rug hair
peering across the room with light house eyes

she was
all over him like snow on a mountain
rose pedal lips and porcelain cheeks
laughing as if her fancy had been tickled

they were
sipping wine like lapping dogs
a penguin and a Barbie doll
chess board king and queen surrounded by pawns

it was
ballroom dancing with vocabulary
weaving drama and painting mystery
a Socrates play in the new millennium

then it's
feet floating across the threshold
lips on lips and tongues exploring uncharted flesh
two souls pounding at heavens gate

he's now
sawing logs in a land of dreams
sprawled out and snoring haiku's
a pillowed head in a room dark as velvet

she's now
replaying the nights grey areas
with Medusa hair and chapped lips
curled up, fighting with the bed spread

now it's
nothing more than a movie for their memories
a souls photos and pasted day dreams
of the night they had a ball

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi

Really great way of capturing the transitory nature of experience. Makes me nostalgic for memories I never had!
