THE PASSING OF OUR LOVE

The passing of our love is cruel
but as necessity prescribes,
the sex in it the only jewel,
so common to our different tribes.

It's not the sex that I was after,
but certainly it was its cure.
Was it the tears? Was it the laughter?
Don't ask me cause I am not sure.

My tribe is worshiping the bird,
but yours is worshiping the tree,
not parallel by sixth or third,
I sound Apache, you sound Cree.

And then you're saying that I lied,
but you don't bother to explain,
it was not love that was denied,
but certainly it was its pain.

Farewell, my tree, good bye, my shelter,
I know these sound like silly words,
they're coming out of love's smelter
to clarify some discords.

Farewell my tree, good bye, my rest,
I'm sure to meet some heavy snow,
I wish you health and all the best,
kissing your image as I go.
