the popsicle man
was our friend
thats what the little girl said
on the evening news

a procession of ice cream trucks
brightens the sad sunny day
with their tinkling tunes
and later they give away
free ice cream to all the children
who attend this ceremony

the spare change stolen
hardly the true value
someone placed on his life.
