The rafting of the river,
swift show of strength,
as primal rapids roaring
through tapered canyons
recede into black shadow.

A mighty blow deliver,
to fight the length
of this mortal, roiling coil
that leaves small choice,
as constant waters flow.

To survive or to drown,
to simply choose.
What does it matter
the philosophical why
when your life is at stake?

And so we go down,
as we refuse to lose,
and as if we believe
our souls will be saved,
on this test we undertake.

White Water Worship~

Love the intense play of the river that snakes and rolls with granite warriors and sandy/rock shore. Loved your poem because it took me back there....Thanks~
