Road stretches forward
Road stretches back
Straight as an arrow
Sharp as a tack,

Stare through the windscreen
Wheels rolling fast
Eyes on the future
Mind on the past,

Drinking bad road coffee
Listening to the wind
What would we do
If we did it all again,

Questions with no answer
Time-travel doesn't work
Wheels keep on turning
The world gone bizerk,

Pull off to the shoulder
Night sky like Van Gogh
You ask what I'm doing
As if you don't know,

Back on the highway
Relaxed and serene
Best way to travel
Is fast, fun and lean ...

Nicely told...

I loved the subtlety in stanzas 5 and 6.
