Show me the scale.
The one on which personal balance and worth are weighed?
It vanishes, much like a mirage
Each time I approach it.

I delight in being momentarily off-kilter.
Offer nothing simple. No, please! Not for me.
But, allow me to gauge growth. Measure me.
Particularly when “excellent” is the goal.

Would it surprise you to know?
That the tests you offer were hoped and expected?
Mediocrity was never sought.
Average was never acceptable.

I did not come to you in weakness
Nor for things achievable at lower levels.
I came to a known, raised bar, in service to my own needs.
And to answer yours, in the process.

Truly serving oneself is far more difficult than serving others.
Others are secondary, once slotted into necessary places.
Self wakes…self. In the night, like a clap of thunder.
Self seeks proof, and holds a long breath, seeking answers against all odds.

Might I tap the scale? With but a toe?
Just to feel it beneath my feet, where it belongs? It matters.
Conditioned, and shielded, you register my need, regardless.
You know that calibration is eminent. Yes. Even you. Especially you.

Show me the scale.
Merit comes with earned credentials.
I am not afraid.
Show me the scale. Weigh me.

Excellent insights into that which makes a submissive a value. The greater the strength of mind & character, the greater the value of the submission.
