If you ever wondered why I’m silent

Wondered why I cannot speak when you are upon your knees…

Looking up beseeching my will or my desire in plea, demand or inquiry.

It is simple, my love, it is you.

You take away my ability to talk… with the desires that flash through my mind.

Like they say, when the end of your life comes you will see the screening of events.

You… there in wait of everything and nothing.

“What does my mistress need? What does she desire?”

When those words come from your lips and touch my ears.

I can’t speak because you have taken the dam from my life.

Knelt in the valley below for whatever may come to you.

Thankfully you are patient.

But I wanted you to understand the silence you endure.

It is… this, you, us… everything.

I used to dream and dream and dream but nothing was like this.

There was a hope but it always stopped and flashed in chance and dream.

Those youthful yearnings poured out from hither and yon, the dust of dreams reborn.

During those imaginary times...

Times of slaying dragons and rescuing grateful princesses.

I had no idea the impact of those words would have in my future.

No idea the impact of one as precious as you upon your knees.

So my darling there, awaiting my reply.

My answer is always…

I want it all, right now... Everything you are.

So it takes a moment...

To collect the mind that scatters from youth to infinity...

To answer:

My will, my need, my desire, my greatest wish…

Is staring back at me.
