Last night,
     you walked out my door,
     and it began to rain.

raindrops fell
     upon my window,
as teardrops fell
     upon my pillow.

thunder and lightening
     became violent.
telling the world
     to be silent.

my emotions only mirrored
     the raging storm.
my head finally silenced
     my fetal form.

nature’s music
     rocked me to sleep,
in it’s warm, safe embrace
     to keep.

the storm raged on
     throughout the night.
as I slumbered
     with no pain or fright.

the morning brought
     sunshine and all its glory,
and a smile to my lips,
    For a mere dreamt story.

and as I turn over
and hold you close to my heart,
i know because of our love
     we shall never part.
