I lie and she buys it
I can say anything I like
She is a desperate, needy
Pathetic creature
It's far too easy

I lie and she doesn't buy it
Tells me that to my face
I tell her it's the truth
Would I lie to the love of my life
I squirm uneasily

I lie to myself now
She's gone and left me
Told me she hated liars
I'm a sad pathetic creature
And life's not that easy

For me the last stanza wasn't necessary. The first two stanzas said it, and the last line in stanza two said it all.
