everything goes
everything goes

the thorn and the rose
everything goes

the beat and the ryhme
it all goes in time

the summer beach
and the lake that froze :
everything goes
everything goes

the dawn and the dusk
the shine and the rust
the broom and the dust
the corn and the husk

the sun and the snow
the song and the show

everything goes
everything goes

the feel of the best of those creepy and enigmatic nursery rhymes.

I really dreaded seeing the title, works perfectly.

Wow.

I love this one. You show sorrow and loss without telling. This one is getting a recommend.

Excellent

The assonance and repetition gives the poem a chant or song-like quality. And I love the double meaning of "It all goes in time." Easy five.

Something about this really grabbed my attention. I think it may have been the fast paced rhythm, the smartly placed repetition of "everything goes," and short lines that re-inforce how quickly the rose fades and even the thorn crumbles to dust.

I also liked the amplification of images in S5 following with the 2 images in the stanza that immediately preceded it, a nice variation on sound and images.

It made me think of Frost's "Nothing Gold Can Stay."

This was well crafted, an easy "5" in my book.
