We marched through the gates of heaven, to the gates of hell
We marched onto the 7th circle, and 7th battlefield as well
Where we fought our inner demons, defeated our secret fears
Nursed our wounds and wounded, and cried our bloody tears
Though many of us had fallen, and passed to the hallowed hall
our names taken years to forge, and yet mere minutes to fall
Our names will live on forever, forever known to all
Our lives not wasted even though we did fall
the battle not lost as long as there are those to heed the call

Touching....

Makes me think of my father, a soldier gone, but not forgotten.
