Fireflies flash little lies,
Enticing firefly females!
Procreation is the reason
for telling their sparkling tales (tails!)

Crickets chirp their songs of love,
Whilst the moon shines from above.
Fiercely working their seduction!
Is their goal only reproduction?

Frogs croak and bellow
Trying their best to outrival
The other froggy fellows!
Seeking froggy females
With whom they can be mellow.

Peacocks fan and shimmer,
Their regal colors they display!
Hoping peahens will catch a glimmer
Of their beguiling array!

Coyotes yip and howl
Seemingly at the full moon.
When it’s all the females
For whom they so croon!

Ah! Romance and love
And all the little games!
Thank God we are human
So we may appreciate
The lasting, loving relationships
Once the courting games have waned!
