Your heart was lying upon a nest of the softest down, wrapped in warmth
Gazing, I found it drifting into the silence of faraway dreams
And daring not disturb it, I sat and watched as it floated onward
Breathing lightly through its travels; comforting my soul.

Your heart was resting next to mine, where both joined as one
Their rhythm beat in perfect time, measured by friendship and care
And they held on for longer than most, knowing it was not to last
But in those moments, each heart leapt with great joy.

Your heart was stronger than mine, breaking much less easily
And so you shared that strength, injecting it deep within
The radiance of you flowed through my veins with much intensity
Where I rose up to you and shone with the light of your being.

Your heart laid mine down while yours journeyed on to freedom
And as you moved straight ahead to life and to living
I took your place upon the nest of the softest down, wrapped in warmth
Breathing lightly through my travels; comforted by the you in me.
