if this poem
was any good
it wouldn't just sit there
it would get up
do something
do what I need done
make me feel the way I want
go ahead
solve my problems, poem
dammit
what you are waiting for?
humor me
flatter me
entertain me
indulge and satisfy me
this poem really should
get up and tease me
then bend over my desk
and offer itself to me
need me
that's why I created you
fulfill me
if this poem
was any good
it would love me
it's ok
I don't really blame you
I know I shouldn't ask for more
than a minute's escape

jthserraalmost 20 years agothe need to say something that just won't be said. The words that just don't quite do what you want, what they are supposed to do. I have felt this often so your words ring so true to me, as I sure it does for most poets. Well said.
