Does it make you feel like a big man to always have the last word?

Do you feel better by shouting because you know that way you'll be heard?

Is it supposed to impress me how you can dictate the blame?

Because I hate to tell you, I feel no shame.

I am not the one that is always wrong,

I'm not the one who sits in the basement blaring songs.

I'm the one who keeps my cool,

Always following the golden rule.

I may be in the wrong this time,

I'm not afraid to admit it.

But listen closely to my rhyme,

For I'm giving you some hints with it.

I won't stay long with blames and shouting aimed at me,

And I wont stay silent for much longer when you turn this into "She..."

I've tried to stay calm and reserved, accepting credit where credit is due,

But it's about time that we started to examine you, and me too.

We are equally guilty, both parties sharing in this war,

Our biggest argument always seeming to revolve around us being poor.

But oftentimes, there's a different subject, and that's where we err,

For when that happens, we forget that blame is something we both share.

I am tempermental, possessive, and change my mind a lot,

What happened 5 minutes ago, I don't remember, I forgot.

I hold in emotions until I'm a bitter wreck,

And I know deep inside, for that you want to wring my neck.

You often bring things into an argument that shouldn't be there,

And your explosive temper is quick to flare.

You forget that even as a woman, I have my own cares too,

And sometimes I feel like you don't care about seeing me through and through.

Yes, we both have our faults and problems that are always here,

But I'm still hoping that once your temper calms, I can again call you dear,

And hear you respond in kind so that we both can apologize to the other,

So that way when we go to bed, we won't be angry beneath the covers.

A good reminder that there are two sides to every relationship, being human we often get so caught up in our own heads we can forget we're not actually the center of the universe.
