Time passes and we are no more
Grasses turn from lavish greens to browns
Flowers bloom and wither accordingly
Birds are born then fly farthest away
And our children turn from mere infants
To adults and no longer are in such great need
Time passes and death nears
Greeting each like a serpent slithering
Upon folds of flesh
The world spins as a constant
And the sun also rises
Passages tethered with life’s line
Roped together bound as one
Human existence the same
Unchanging yet transforming
As ever when time moves on.
