The last fucking thing the world needs
is another fucking poem
filling a few bytes
to be shelved away in its own dust
a tired old fart of a poem
barely legible scratchings
on torn crumpled paper
a treasure for the landfills
a cynical poem
rusty and covered with dew
in the backyard graveyard of some trailer park
slowly returning to the hapless soil
to be digested by some slimy creature
or so caustic it sinks deep
splashing into the watertable
then out of the pump
to run down some old man’s reeking crack
