Time has spilled the liquid drops from mine eyes
long encapsulated, waiting to fall
like tiny pools that wade into dreams
long before you close your lids
of sleepy silence and breathless wonders.

Can a child's heart still believe,
in old worn flesh

That a promise is still a promise
and home is the hand of the soul
that opens to love,
where the flicker never fades
as hope is born into a warm blanket
sheltering years, absorbing tears.

Could faith be so kind and gentle
that this time
I may sheild these veils from my eyes,
and walk unto his soul,

unafraid,

so to be captured,
and to find my heart complete.

schweet

yeah GA, this is sweet as peaches, but what is up with the "mine eyes?"

it makes me think of the battle hymn of the republic :) That is the only place I still hear that language anymore... just curious why you selected that word.
