To pray for the one you want so long to fill you with bliss.
To dream of the one to thrill you with just a simple kiss.
You know who you desire most to hold you close and comfort you.
The one to lift your heart and soul, the one to say "I DO".

It came to pass God answered you and let your spirit soar.
The one he picked just for you to love you forever more.
Each day was filled with joy and happiness, promises for life.
When we stood before the Lord and were bonded husband and wife.

I gave you my heart entirely as we merged deep in our souls.
The Lord had surely blessed us and we wanted the same goals.
But your mother could not stand the blessing that you had.
using lies, deceipt and treachery to convince you it was bad.

You let her win and lost your faith, you denied your heart.
You broke the promise that you made that we would never part.
To give away your true love, you gave away a piece of your soul.
Yet God and I will love you still and wait to make you whole.

heart touching

It is sad when love goes awry but this poem definitely captures the pain and the hope so well.
