My soul is in torment, because of something I haven't got
Always there tempting, but I hold back and will not
Never to risk damage to something so good
Despite the painfulness of knowing I could
Sitting here watching them going together
Knowing I lost my chance of having forever
Bound by a love that must stay unspoken
Waiting for release from a heart that's broken
Wondering why illusions trouble me so
Wanting the forbidden for reasons unknown
Willing to destroy myself in trying to please
But unwilling to make the decision to seize
An opportunity to take my hearts deepest desire
But because of a promise, I'll sooner stand in fire
My life is a hell designed just for me
To never be shared by one who could set free
So please shoot me now and let me die
Instead of letting me do something and fry
