(a slow melancholy blues)

The sky was still blue ---
When I rolled home.
The night was still new ---
Stars born in cool gloam.

I wondered of you –
Where you’d gone to.
Of hotels and who --
Sat down beside you.

The bedroom was still --
No clothes to trip on.
The cat on the sill,
Waiting to climb on.

I fell on the bed
Hugged a big pillow.
'Scent went to my head
I wept like the willow.

It’s been hours and days
Since there was we two.
Please clear my haze
Call me. Renew you.

I'm the 1st?

I loved this carefully paced poem and the picture it creates. A 5 from me.
