my feet plunged, tangled intentionally
in twine despite wish for run nylon
plus knotty rope from shredded silk thongs,
despite broken promises
we smiled,
Mikayla, Roberta and I

the sun sets
not plunged into anything
it rolls gracefully over the edge of my perception
to delight and burn those in its way with wash,
skin concerns and growing, melting interests
when furniture dictates behavior,
it’s shape and length
-our parents marched around the breakfast table-
we sleaze around a post with hooks
memories banned

imagine a four leaf clover
castrated and jolly laughter
so soft and private
Mikayla, Roberta and I
triple hexed
