Wilted flowers grace the windowsill
Muted color in the fading breeze
Gauzy curtains fray the edges
Paint the morning in pastel shards

Breath held for a moment
Recapture just past the last sigh
Coffee’s magic aroma closes the gap
Daylight slips in under the rug

Daily routine opens welcoming arms
Dreams diminish to forgotten trinkets
Tucked away to be sorted and revisited
When drowsy reflections find the night winds.

I go back in time...

mostly at night. This is wonderful and real, the way we

hold on and awake to go again, lovely.

Great words!

Every phrase is wonderful, each stanza better than the last. I liked this a lot.
