You know that game
Everyone does
It’s an icebreaker to get to know someone
At the beginning.
And I know this is the end,
But I have two truths and a lie

I love you.
I hate you.
You ruined my life.
Can you see the truths,
Discover the lie?
It should be obvious.

I love you.
I did and do, not L-O-V-E,
But in my own weird and wonderful way.
You did too, but I think you lie to yourself
And say you really didn’t to make it easier
To do what you think you need to do.

I hate you.
Well, what happened to you, anyway
And what it has done to your life
And relationships, how your trust is gone.
And how you think I can't want to be there for you,
Though I will be there always.

You ruined my life;
Completely destroyed it,
Wiped it out.
And in its place is the realization that that was not the real me.
It was a piece of a whole that I didn’t even realize wasn’t there.
That discovery allowed me to truly start living my life.

Do you see it now?
Do you see the truths?
Do you see the lie?
I am sure you do:
They are all truths,
They are all lies.

Oh no . . .

... you didn't ruin my life, you gave it a kick start. A powerful, important learning curve in life and love.

I once had a "life ruining" person come into my life, living authentic to me has been an intense learning experience so far. I enjoyed this piece, thanks for sharing.
