Under the Spectre Moon

Tempt me not
with thy harvest of light,
O’ Spectre Moon.
The flame spun night
resists your pull,
turning your tempered gaze
to the East.
Diminish
with the spare grace
of the seasons
and leave me
at peace
on this lean eve
so that I may play
the Autumn Fool.
