My eyes are growing tired,
though my mind is still awake
Your words echoing,
  on repeat, in my brain
The tone of your voice eases me...
Your manner disarms me...

I find myself on the brink -
  on the brink of something...
My foot, paused to step...
Thirst unquenched,
my need to sate - unmet...

Will I fall?
Will you be there if I do?
Should I step, or should
  I run...
Should I let enter my mind,
  the probability of you?

You are like an enigma...
  dangling golden chains
Drawing me ever closer...
no matter how hard I fight the flame
