It's hard to look someone in the face
when last night
they didn't have a face
and on that winters walk
about five years ago
(or not)
(it just feels like that)
you noticed
that the face
didn't quite seem to match
the one you kissed
the one you fell asleep to
the one you made love to
it just looks like
someone you fucked
went home
and drank to combat nerves.
