Once a year
A story is told
The one with St Valentine
Established and old.

The flowers are groomed
The cards are well written
Hectic is Cupid
Since the world had gone smitten

Zealous and vibrant
Couples alike
The singles set out
To trance through the night

Commercial and vicious
The shops are alight
To take in the poor suckers
When money is tight

A saint he may be
Valentine perhaps
But one things for sure
He brings out the saps.

So be sure of one thing
I tell you this now
Watch out for St Valentine
His impact will tell

Not on your life,
Nor your love fit
But where it hurts most
Your increasing, credit.
