VESSEL

been out for so long
point of origin unknown
fair weather...fierce storm
icy winds...sun's warmth
venturing on and on

consider destination
maps of fools cast to the sea
winds of fate hold true
closing the distance
between me and you

So, I'll keep bailing to stay afloat
mending my torn sails...
watch the helm all night to stay on course
whatever it takes to reach your shores

the journey's been good
no real complaints
I've got my vessel and I'm free
just drifting along
free to be me
