I'll see your silhouette in the shadows as I turn in my black bed, imagine your body draped across mine like fog in the bay in the early hours just before the sun rises. Will your kisses taste like dew when the sun rises just right?

Can I keep you here, with me, in the shadows? I just want to keep you, any part of you, even just your shadow. Will your shadow be good enough to stay, stitched to a thimble long after you've left and gone? I hate to be so lonely without your touch, and the sway of the branches outside does nothing more than remind me of our own rhythm.

I'll lock my door so my visage of you, and I, can have a night to ourselves. I won't light a candle for fear I'd chase your remains under my bed. I'd rather have you next to me. For without your shadow screaming happily with me, how will you know where to return home to?

I need your touch. Sway like the ocean under my skin. Your a wave pool my body still remembers the motions of. Don't leave. But if you must, leave me your shadow in my walls and in my blankets, so I don't have to worry tonight. So I don't have to light a candle to show you the way. Let the echo of your love being the calling card home.

Come back to me.
