Wake up, wake up you foolish dreamer
Stop your slumbering and just wake up!
All of your life you spent asleep; wasted life
Open your eyes, for once, just open your eyes
And look about you; see your world for what it is
No candy floss or unicorns, no lollipops or ribbons fair
No fancy treats or smiling clowns
Child within, grow up and stop the sobbing
Leave behind the sorrow and pain; it’s time
Clouded mind; lies built upon lies and pretense
Wandering through the world on angels wings
Soaring above the rest as though you were better
But you’re not; you’re just asleep and dreaming
Wipe clean your sordid slate; dry your eyes
And for God’s sake
Just wake up!
