...sometimes the loneliness got to him. When did it happen, was he like this yesterday, did it happen today. He often came back to these thoughts, yet he never had the answers. He just walked along thinking.

What do I look like, was another troubling thought. Why do people react like that. Some run from him others smile sadly, some offer money and still others taunt and ridicule. Could I look like so many different people. I'm just me, he thought.

Sometimes, but only for a brief moment, he would allow his thoughts to drift unchecked. Usually he was on a mission, not to any destination or end, rather just to avoid certain thoughts.

Today for what ever reason, he was drifting. He thought about a woman, then a young boy and girl, but before he could smile or frown, he locked the door to the fear. Maybe someday he'd allow such thoughts a longer stay, but not today
