The scarlet rose
         La rose d'écarlate
is nuzzled in the dark
         est nuzzled dans l’obscurité
         wayward tears
                   larmes de wayward
         shed in silent passion
                   hangar dans la passion de silent
trickle from the bud
filet du bourgeon

waver
         hésitez
         then fall
                   puis chute

From where I sleep
         D'où je dors
I hear their hollowness
         J’entends leur creux
         echo once
                   faites écho une fois
         remembering the tears
                   rappeler les larmes
I’ve twice shed in love
         que j’ai deux fois le hangar dans l’amour
