I
Angry
but I won't expel you,
from the empty space.
My wandering arm finds
sheets warmed by cool air.

II
Abandoned
pillows proudly holding,
your profile and your scent.
A cameo you left for me.

III
Accepting
dreams of your breath against my spine.
I linger long enough to change reality,
to imagine your arm around me
stroking caressing to gain my attention.

"I just want to feel you explode in my hand, you whisper then I can sleep."

IV
Miming
the words into skin
I can't be sure a sound ever escaped.
The slip of your tongue
against tensed vertebrae
rigidity takes all of me
while you feel the
impending rhythm of sleep

V
Sedatives
caught in your palm,
pooling as you softly finish.
Taking in your hand an overdose
you warm your breast creamy
and move tight against me.
This time closer, skin to skin sleep spreads between us.

VI
Glue
you tell me,
enough to stay this way
all night
and we sleep.

VII
Morning
I move against clinging sheets,
accepting the dream and the lie.
But I won't expel you,
I slip carefully out of bed
trying not to disturb the empty space,
and the cameo you left.
