What if we had met before
How different would it be
If we were dealt a better hand
Would you be you & I be me

Would we be the best of friends
Sworn to betray one another never
Would we have fallen madly in love
And live happily for ever

Or maybe share a quick "hello"
And never cross paths again
Who'd we tell our thoughts and fears
Would we know a true friend

All the wonders and "what if's"
Just be it as it may
My heart and soul are filled with joy
Because of you today

You put a smile on my face
You play a song in my heart
I've found in you the perfect friendship
But how ever did it start

If only things could be different
Your freedom not compromised
I know I'd find the love I seek
Just looking in your eyes
