Have you ever tried to find the value of a single word?
Placing a price on love probably seems absurd.
Yet to each of us there comes a time in our life,
when we accept the cost and willingly risk the strife.

I found what I was willing to offer for a heart so pure,
Just how much I'd wager and willingly endure.
It included a house and friends and a career I knew,
and to claim this prized moved 700 miles as it grew.

I would willingly move the earth, moon, and sun.
Bringing joy, peace, happiness, butterflies, and fun.
God saw it was good and smiled down from above.
At the thing of great value, the word we call love.

Our hearts sailed high and our spirits sailed free.
With vows of forever she became part of me.
And as I was for her and our vows had been done,
We stood side by side our souls united as one.

The Lord smiled that day as we held each other tight.
The choir of angels sang that everything was right.
Yet one felt unfairness that she pay a cost.
In sorrow and tears shed and in things to be lost.

"What price for you", she screamed out in joy.
And she merrily listed the things she'd destroy.
First on the list was the peace she had found.
It was torn from her to be cast to the ground.

"Next on the list is the past you hold dear."
"Never again to be welcomed back here."
As the list began mounting she started to cry.
Her mother stood proudly, a gleam in her eye.

Next on the list were her money and things.
"You have no need for your car", her mother sings.
she continued onward to strip her life away,
bringing sadness and despair to darken her day.

I tried to protect her from the pain she recieved.
As she was constantly lied to, snubbed, and decieved.
Her heart knew the truth and continued to be strong.
This caused her mother to think hard and think long.

Her faith was the key and it had to go,
So discord and doubt she started to sow.
Till finally the price had been set to high.
How her heart ached as she wanted to die.

"The answer is simple", her mom patiently said.
"Just let your heart die and live with your head"
So she took this advise a new life to begin.
Her heart screamed in pain as she walled it all in.

I paid for my love and it can't be taken away.
I will always love her, may her heart find it's way.
May she find the truth and come back to me.
For the cost of love is both priceless and free.

Te Ama Mi Esposa,
Forever and Always.
