We have discussed it… sometimes
But not in any deep way
How our feelings for each other
Can survive in this strange play

Love to me is loving you
Love to you is loving me
Love to me is clear to see
Love to you is what it can be

We’ve talked and cried together
Some touching moments we’ve had
These loving times together
Sometimes when life was sad

I certainly needed you at times
I needed you here with me
Like when I lost my mother sudden
You were my only company

You eased the hurt I felt
On those days that were distressing
You were just then my one true friend
Your comfort, a real blessing

I’m through it now and stronger too
I thank you for being there
I would have have made it on my own
But it helped that you did share

Love to me is loving you
Love to you is loving me
Love to me is clear to see
Love to you is what it can be

We have our different views on love
But with some common ground
The need to support, to share and care
A relationship that's tightly bound

As we go on, the love goes strong
Our lives are bound together
Experiences shared, memories cared
We could go on for ever...

I dont use the thermometer

you are lucky to have such a friend, and he/she is lucky to have you and this sweet poem :)

I would like to see one of the moments described in the poem drawn out, without rhythm or rhyme, all energy and image, metaphor. Make us feel what you felt when your friend was there for you those horrible times, without telling us what the horrible time was-- ahhh a challenge! You will also challenge us to read your mind, which is always intoxicating.
