When I entered
for the first time
it was in hushed anticipation
of opportunity.

Escaping and awaking
fleeing from the yawn
the walls, computers, people
were all a ribbon laced dream.

Searching for that feeling
that so quickly slipped away
the paper marks my finger
but it’s hope that’s been stained gray.

hopes worn grey

from finger tip to type

watching away facial ticks

tears to put our past wrongs right

Nicely open to interpretation; sensing disappointment at life's daily encounters.

Somewhere in the midst of reality

reality leaves stains and marks, does that mean that the adventure was not worth it? IMO It stays ambigious, the way many of us feel about much of what we do or at our station in life.
